Challenges: A sugar mill faced significant challenges in effectively managing its supply chain, particularly regarding the tracking and oversight of vehicle movements carrying raw materials and finished goods. Traditional, manual methods of recording vehicle entries and exits, such as logbooks and gate checks, proved to be inefficient, error-prone, and difficult to reconcile with inventory data. This lack of real-time visibility into vehicle activity led to inaccuracies in inventory management, delays in processing, potential security risks, and difficulties in optimizing resource allocation. The mill struggled to accurately track the flow of materials, leading to potential bottlenecks, stockouts, or overstocking. Furthermore, the manual processes were time-consuming and required significant manpower, adding to operational costs.
Our Solution: We used real-time video streams to meticulously monitor vehicle movements in and out of the sugar mill premises. This innovative solution became a vital tool for tracking and overseeing the mill’s complex supply chain processes. Seamlessly integrating it with the existing infrastructure allowed us to automate inventory management, ensuring optimal resource utilization and enhancing operational efficiency. Key highlights of our project included the precise tracking of vehicle entries and exits, which provided invaluable insights into supply chain logistics and strengthened security measures. We developed a robust system that boasted an impressive 99% accuracy rate, guaranteeing reliable and consistent performance in monitoring and managing inventory movements. Our streamlined automation processes not only optimized inventory management but also contributed to overall cost reduction and improved operational workflows. By harnessing the power of video streams, our solution empowered the sugar mill to achieve greater transparency, efficiency, and control over its supply chain operations, ultimately paving the way for enhanced productivity and profitability..
