Challenges: We worked with a full-service structural steel detailing company that operated globally with geographically diverse teams. They were using an MS Access database, updated manually via spreadsheet imports, to manage timesheets, budgeting, and project analytics. This manual process created several challenges. Preparing reports consumed significant time and resources. Moreover, it lacked real-time visibility into project status, and the absence of key metrics and limited analytics hindered timely decision-making.
Our Solution: We developed a cloud-based web application to automate timesheet submission and project hour tracking, enabling employees across multiple locations to seamlessly report their time. This unified platform streamlined time tracking, project cost management, and profit analysis, providing staff and managers with a comprehensive tool to improve efficiency. Real-time reports offered instant access to key metrics for effective decision-making. The application included features such as complex project budget creation, a comprehensive employee database, streamlined timesheet submissions, intuitive project dashboards, automated reminders for timely submissions, and data visualization through charts and graphs for easy analysis. As a result, we achieved significant time savings, reducing manual data entry and consolidation time by an average of 20 hours per month. Real-time tracking improved project progress visibility and resource allocation. Data accuracy also improved, with an 80% decrease in errors in timesheet submissions, leading to more reliable data for decision-making. Finally, the streamlined process reduced administrative overhead related to time tracking and project management tasks by 25%.
