Challenges: A major global music company, operating in over 50 countries and representing many well-known artists and labels, engaged us to improve its outdated revenue and royalty management. The company’s current systems suffered from several key problems: inconsistent project IDs hindered processing, multiple separate finance and royalty systems created a complex and disjointed workflow, and fragmented data handling due to inconsistent ETL processes across different inbound and outbound data interfaces.
Our Solution: To overcome existing challenges, we developed and implemented a unified, future-ready platform. This involved integrating previously disparate revenue, finance, and royalty systems into a single, cohesive platform. A key component was the deployment of Vistex for global revenue and artist/copyright royalty processing, enabling seamless operations. Furthermore, we transitioned to SAP S/4HANA as their central financial system, streamlining and organizing financial processes globally. Efficient ETL interfaces were designed and built to ensure smooth data transmission between SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems, facilitating payments, financial transactions, and master data management. This new platform also included replacing the outdated sales processing system with Vistex and establishing a competitive master data transmission system. The results of this comprehensive approach included the implementation of standardized, global project identifiers, replacing inconsistent regional formats. The consolidation of revenue systems into a single platform improved efficiency and transparency, while the implementation of SAP S/4HANA unified global financial transactions, replacing multiple outdated finance systems. Finally, the optimized artist catalog monetization, through simplified and accelerated royalty management, ensured timely and accurate payments, strengthening trust with artists and stakeholders.
